Meet Janeilla Burns, Miss Jetset 2020

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Jetset Magazine is the world’s leading affluent lifestyle publication, with print and online editions targeting a readership that includes the nation’s wealthiest 1 percent. Jetset Magazine is also home of the Miss Jetset cover model talent search, which has announced its 2020 winner.

Janeilla Burns was named winner of Miss Jetset 2020, making her the sixth talent search winner to grace the cover of the magazine. A Navy operations specialist, Ms. Burns has long maintained a passion for the performing arts. She plans on pursuing a college degree upon the completion of her active service in 2021, though she is also eager to continue exploring her love of performing.

Born in Visalia, California, and stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, she stated that being named Miss Jetset has cemented the belief that she can achieve any goal she sets her mind on. She also shared her appreciation for a number of local artists comprising Norfolk’s Neon District and Vibe Creative District, as well as the city’s diversity of quality dining establishments, ranging from world-class seafood to Korean BBQ.

Ms. Burns concluded her first interview with the magazine by issuing a bit of advice to her former self: “Never give up in whatever you do,” she said, “and never let anyone tell you what your limits are.”

 

Jetset Magazine Donates over $300,000 as Part of Miss Jetset Pageant

A popular luxury brand publication, Jetset Magazine publishes content targeted to the ultra-rich in topic areas such as golf, travel, real estate, and finance. In addition, Jetset Magazine hosts a global online fan voting competition to crown the winner of the annual Miss Jetset pageant.

The winning Miss Jetset contestant receives a generous cash prize as well as a luxurious photoshoot and placement on the cover of Jetset Magazine. Starting with a field of thousands of pageant hopefuls, the 2020 participants competed for nearly two months before Janeilla Burns was crowned Miss Jetset 2020 on March 12.

In conjunction with the pageant, Jetset Magazine made its largest donation to date to the prominent childhood cancer charity, the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. With a generous $300,000 contribution, the magazine furthered the foundation’s mission of supporting families of children with cancer and funding research for a cure. Since 2016, the Miss Jetset competition has donated almost $1 million to the B+ Foundation.

 

Miss Jetset 2020 is a U.S. Navy Operations Specialist

Every year, the magazine hosts a global competition to crown the new Miss Jetset. In March 2020, Janeilla Burns was named that year’s official Miss Jetset winner, taking home $50,000.

With an eye on pursuing her dreams, the newest Miss Jetset said that she will use this experience as a reminder that she can do anything she sets her mind to. 

Miss Jetset Magazine Competition Donates to the B+ Foundation

Jetset Magazine supports the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation by donating a portion of the funds it receives from its annual Miss Jetset competition.

This past July, proceeds gained from the Miss Jetset competition enabled Jetset Magazine to donate over $300,000 to the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, the largest annual donation the company has presented to date. Held each year, the Miss Jetset competition receives entries from thousands of females seeking to earn the title of Miss Jetset. The winner of the competition receives a $25,000 award and a luxury-inspired photoshoot featured on the cover of the magazine. The 2020 Miss Jetset title was awarded to Janeilla Burns.

Following the contest, 25 percent or more of the proceeds earned from the competition are given to the B+ Foundation to assist in the charity’s initiative to support children with cancer. This money is also used by the foundation to support its research directed at fighting cancer and improving cancer treatments and raising awareness of cancers that affect children. The Miss Jetset competition has given more than $965,000 to the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation since 2016.
